LAW OF THERMODYNAMICS
The Bible clearly states the laws of thermodynamics- the law of the conservation of energy is revealed in the bible after God ceased creation on the sixth day, and since then no more matter has been created. The law of entropy was revealed after mankind’s sin which caused the universe, which was in a perfect perpetual state, to suffer falling into a process of growing old and continually becoming more chaotic.
The laws of thermodynamics state the following:
First Law – Conservation of Energy
The first law of thermodynamics teaches that energy can only be changed for one form to another, and the sum amount of energy remains unchanged, it cannot be created or destroyed. Therefore one can imply that there can be no new creation of material in the universe.
Second Law – The Law of Entropy
The Second Law of Thermodynamics teaches that the total amount of energy in the universe remains unchanged but it has a tendency to become less available. Any system left to itself will become more random and disorganized. All material in the universe is deteriorating and becoming more chaotic.
Therefore one can imply that all matter and energy in the universe continues to spread out and exhaust itself in space. i.e. the sun extinguishes its energy and its material becomes distributed and spread out all throughout space, planets cool down and get swept away. Everything left alone will eventually become free-floating dust in space.
Both of these laws are confirmed in the Bible:
God says the all creation is “finished” on the sixth day, and th
ere is no more creation that will take place until the times of the end, thus NO more energy will be added to the universe:
Genesis 2.1- Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.
As a result of the fall of man, the universe is running down and become more chaotic, or is wasting away. The universe it literally equally distributing all its energy and heat until it becomes cold desolate place.
Psalms 102. 25, 26- Of old You laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish, but You will endure; yes, all of them will grow old like a garment; like a cloak You will change them, and they will be changed.
When a hot object is connected to a cold object, the heat transfers to the cold object until they both reach an equilibrium point in temperature. In this system however, we will never observe heat being transferred from the cold object to the hot, making the cold object colder and the hot object hotter, due to the second law of thermodynamics. \
The second law of thermodynamics, states that there is a useful state variable called entropy.
Delta S = Delta Q/T = state of entropy
If the state of entropy cannot be reversed the initial state requires a greater input than the final state. If the beginning state (temp) is > then the end state (temp) eventually the system will reach a point of equilibrium (both objects are the same temp). Neither object after separated will naturally return to their original temperatures, the process of them being the same temperature is irreversible.
If the state of entropy can be reversed the system remains a constant.
